Get Plugged In!

Get Plugged In!

"See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end."  Hebrews 3:12-14 NIV

As God’s people, we are called to first plug into Jesus through intimate relationship—then into one another.  We all need Jesus.  But we all need one another as well—if we want to grow and be vibrant and victorious Christians.

Two-thirds of the New Testament epistles are instructions on how to treat each other in the context of community.  That is where the “wear and tear” of the Christian life happens—and where we learn to develop Godly character and forgive one another, love one another, help one another, and encourage one another.  Without learning that—we are stagnant, nominal Christians, without victory or vibrancy.

13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. All of us need daily encouragement!  Encouragement discourages sin!  Satan always tempts and attacks at our most vulnerable place—and that’s at a point of discouragement.

Stay connected to a life-giving church and to a small group.  Hermits do not grow spiritually.

For those who are serious about making Heaven their final destination—it is essential to avoid having a hardened heart that easily turns from God into sinful attitudes and behaviors.  Receiving daily encouragement from God’s people is the answer!

Disconnected from daily encouragement—discouragement and deception will rule.  Let’s avoid that at all costs and “GET PLUGGED IN”.
