Direction

I was reading a devotion this week that was talking about Benaiah in 2 Samuel 23.  He is the great warrior know for going into a pit on a snowy day and killing a lion.  It's an amazing story for sure.  There is one thing we can know and that is he was well trained.  I love getting advice, but I love getting directions even more.  It's very helpful when I get advice and then get the 'how to do it' also.  It doesn't happen all the time but I love it when it does.  There is another story in the bible about an Ethiopian man who was reading the bible, Philip was instructed by an angel to ask him about what he was reading and if he understood it.  The man replied, " how can I, unless someone instructs me."  So Philip jumped up and explained it to him.  We get really good at offering advice and such but if someone doesn't know, maybe they need more than advice.  We have to be able to also explain or direct people in a way that offers solutions and strategies that bring end results.
