Expecting Rewards? || Day 19 : 21 Day Fast

WELCOME TO THE 21 DAY FAST || DAY 19 : JAN. 22, 2016

What Rewards Are You Expecting

The start of the New Year and the 21 Day Fast does something really good in me. It requires me to go look through my dream journal. Honestly, it’s sat on the shelf for a few months now, dirty from lack of use, but this time of year and the fast reminds me to open up that camo binder and review and look forward. As I was browsing through I found something. I found the previous 5 years sheets of “What Rewards Are You Expecting.” As I was looking through the sheets, they caused me to be amazed at what God had done. One of the biggies for us personally is financial.

In 2012 we were struggling financially, mostly because we didn’t have any idea on where our money was going. It was poor management on our part. So the #2 thing on our list that year was “Financial Blessing Setup a budget and stick to it.” That year we were reintroduced to Dave Ramsey’s course “Financial Peace University.” Our finances have been different ever since. Through our fast, God gave us the supernatural ability to stick to a budget {for the most part. ;)}. It was interesting to me that the answer to our “Financial Blessing” request was the ability to be a better manager of what God was entrusting to us.

God has been so good. Our finances weren’t the only answered prayer and I may have forgotten if it had not been for those sheets. It’s good to remember what God’s done. Why? Because it gives us the hope and faith that what He did in the past He can do again in the future. If you haven’t done so already, make sure to write what you believe God is putting in your heart to accomplish.

God’s promises are true. Matthew 6:16-18 illustrates this:

“Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. ut you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, o that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in thesecret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."

The physical battle is almost over and the rewards are coming.

Happy Fasting!
